Book 15 (SOS/femursos)October 28th, 1921
My Dear Lavinia,
I was surprised to hear of your recent ventures into the realms of the occult! I must admit the thought of such things had never crossed my mind, even fleetingly. Is this the influence of city life on a well-educated woman such as yourself? However, I must admit that your last letter did entice me - not so much in an interest in alchemy, but the allure of sharing secrets with London's most elite! How scandalous! I accept your invitation, and will eagerly join you for your next meeting if your "master" permits, of course!
Your old friend,
Pippi
P.S. You'll have to tell me how to dress for the occasion - I've never attended such a function before!

Dear Lavinia,
How thrilling my first attendance was! The masks were a quirk of pageantry I did not expect, and so I could not discern the identity of my fellow attendees other than yourself. I did note that those closest to the master had different masks to the rest of us - that gentleman with the large skull visage was rather frightful! As for the master... well, there's nothing I could write here that you do not already know. And that old painting is truly such a beautiful thing, isn't it? I would attend a hundred meetings like that one just to see that painting again.
Your curious little mouse,
Pippi

Lavinia,
Your presence at the last gathering was sorely missed. I know the master scares you - the things they speak of frighten me also. But I find myself afraid in the way a newborn child may be fearful of the dark: it is a knowledge that there are things we might not yet recognise beyond our immediate surroundings. The master understands this, as did Williams in his day. The time draws near, my friend. Please, don't let me go into the new world without you.
Always yours,
Pippi

Lavinia,
This shall be the last letter you receive from me. This week we are to summon Williams' scarlet woman, who will lead us to worlds anew. I shall not expect we shall return to London again.
I know you believe you made a mistake by introducing me to this world, but I want only for you to know that I have faith in Master Westerley.
Goodbye,
Pippi
