  • sticky-yellowThis quote is evidence that he is someone who is openminded and accepting of others like his idol, Bapu Gandhi. He show a way of thinking that lets him be more understanding of others and does not hate others for there beliefs.
  • sticky-yellowThis quote shows Pi's truth of his faith. he is not forced to follow these practices, but does them to love god. He believes that in order to love god as much as he can, he needs to follow Christian, muslim, and hindu beliefs. this is evidence that he wants to make the most of his faith and his intent is pure.
  • sticky-yellowthis helped him understand human psychology when talking about freedom since the quote is parallel to us and how we technically are not free. we have responsibilities to up keep, like getting food, working to survive, and are bound to time that being given those things would give us more freedom, like animals in a zoo.
  • sticky-yellowHis understanding and love for science helped him for his everyday life. He made his nickname Pi which is a number used in many equations. He later in life went and studied three toed sloth which was a experience he enjoyed and loved. Science was something he found comfort in and something Pi wanted to learn more about.
  • sticky-yellowHe felt like he was a outsider, someone who does not belong. Pi being called Pissing was amusing to others but on his side of things harmed him. When Pi went to his new school he did not want to feel hurt again and wanted people to call him something he wanted to be called; 3.14 or Pi. now when the teacher calls him that he feels happy and rather then being made fun of he is a part of a group and not pushed away to be made fun of.
