Siege of CartephOn the first anniversary of the heir of Langholdt's birth, Tavor, Carteph was caught off guard by the Witch of Woe, Cytherea. A massive army of undead raided the capital in the dark of night, and amidst the chaos, Accolon the Great, his Saints, and Tavor were slain. The land would become covered in a dark shadow in which monsters now thrive.
The last living relatives and close associates of the Saints led an evacuation effort, leading as many civilians out of the land as possible. As the shadow grew, they moved, until they eventually found themselves taking refuge within the northernmost cities of the country.
